FAQ

A VPN (Virtual Private Network) establishes a secure tunnel between your device and the server in the country of your choice. All the data you send or receive (e.g. emails, chats, passwords, banking info, websites you visit) passes through this tunnel, so others (hackers, trackers, ISPs) can't view or track it. A VPN also changes your IP address, enabling you to access websites and content that would otherwise be blocked for your region.

Avira uses the AES-256 Advanced Encryption Standard.

256 refers to the key size – the higher the size, the more possible key combinations there are. Cracking 256-bit encryption would take several billion PCs many billions of years.
