The Georgie Dress is a chic, everyday knit dress that is as comfy to wear as it is stylish. With a fit and flare style, it’s flattering on so many figures and makes a gorgeous outfit all year round. Whether you’re wearing it to the office, whilst out and about at the weekend, or simply having a cosy day at home, you’re guaranteed to look put-together in Georgie. It’s an outfit in one!

Simple and elegant with a lovely finish, the Georgie Dress features a wrap over bodice which pleats into the side seams for shaping. The top is lined for a beautifully clean finish, as well as for extra comfort and support. Full-length set in sleeves can be cut at any point depending on your preference. When it comes to skirts, there are two variations: a 3/4 circle skirt designed to be sewn in heavier knits such as ponte di Roma, and a gathered skirt designed to be sewn in lighter jerseys. Elastic at the waist and along the neckline edges ensures the dress stays snug and close-fitting to the body, with no gaping! Add optional belt loops too.

SUGGESTED FABRICS: The Georgie Dress is designed to be sewn in knits, and you have two options when it comes to fabric weights. We recommend sewing version 1 in a stable knit such as ponte di Roma or similar medium weight knit. For version 2, we recommend using something lighter in weight, such as a viscose, bamboo, tencel or lyocell jersey, as a heavier fabric will make the gathers quite bulky. Depending on the weight, both version 1 and 2 could be made in a stretch velvet. Both dresses feature a lined bodice, and for this we suggest using viscose jersey.

The Ava Skirt is a versatile A-line skirt with two hem length options. Wear it midi with boots for the ultimate in cosiness, or go mini for the perfect work-to-evening skirt. It’s an everyday classic that’ll go with everything and work throughout the seasons – win-win!

Ava features darts at the front and back for shaping, a regular centre back zip, narrow waistband and in-seam pockets! Made up of only four pieces, Ava is simple to sew and a perfect starting point for beginner dressmakers, whereas more experienced stitchers will enjoy a quick, satisfying project.

SUGGESTED FABRICS: For the Ava Skirt we recommend medium to heavy weight woven fabrics with some structure, such as denim, cotton poplin, cotton canvas, brocade, viscose linen and wools. For the pockets, we recommend a finer fabric such as cotton lawn.

The Virginia is the ultimate pair of basic leggings with elasticated waist. Pattern features two rises and extra length to allow easy adjustments and a scrunched look at the ankles.

Version 1 sits at the natural waistline. Version 2 is low rise and ideal for maternity.

RECOMMENDED FABRIC: Stretch fabrics with at least 40% stretch - preferably containing spandex or lycra. See pattern envelope for stretch ruler. 

With its modern swing shape and length that hits mid-hip, the Cortland is an update on the classic trench. Raglan sleeves give you plenty of movement and room for layering while the storm flaps and generous collar keep out inclement weather. The Cortland also features a double-breasted front closure and roomy welt pockets. All seams are bound, which not only gives your coat a professional finish, but also helps it stand up to wear and tear.

Techniques involved include sewing a straight seam, welt pockets, Hong Kong seam finishing, topstitching, sewing a collar & collar stand, inserting buttonholes, and hand sewing.

SUGGESTED FABRICS: 

Main Fabric: Lightweight coating or medium weight fabrics such as cotton or tencel twill, gabardine, or linen. Make sure your fabric has drape to allow the swing shape of the coat to hang properly. We recommend fabric weights between 5 – 8 oz.

Pocket Lining Fabric: lightweight cotton fabrics such as chambray, lawn, or pocketing.

Fusible Interfacing: woven or tricot interfacing in a similar, or slightly lighter, weight as your main fabric.
