But the fun doesn’t stop there. The next time you visit our Fondren Foundation Birds of the World exhibit, you may spot one of our smaller birds, the hamerkop. Our pair resides in the African Savanna aviary and build a giant nest that weigh about 50-60 pounds—a pretty large nest for a bird their size. Hear more from Bird Keeper Brian.
